I have completed the requirements for a master's degree in mechanical engineering! My area of concentration was in dynamics and controls. I have done simulation work in tethered satellites, used computer vision to experimentally determine the dynamics of a bouncing ball, and I had an internship to develop an apparatus which could test shock absorbers in the seats of aircraft!





I would like to get a job in the dynamics and controls area but the jobs in this area seem to be pretty scarce! I have tried company websites, common job sites like monster and hotjobs, and networking and have pretty much exhausted these resources. What is the key idea behind the differences between thermal dynamic control and kinetic control?

Reacting 1,3-Butadiene and HBr at low temperatures creates a 1,2 addition product as the major product and 1,4 at higher temperatures. But why is this? Is it because the additional heat is used to overcome the activation energy?





Is the 1,2 a more stable product at the low temperature and then less stable at the high temperature? It seems to me that if it was stable at lower temperatures, wouldn't it be even more stable at the higher temperatures as in the case of the 1,4?

I have a datalist on a usercontrol. In that datalist there is 4 linkbuttons. On linkbutton1 click a modalpopup will open (using modalpopup extender). In that modalpopup there is a panel and inside the panel there is a placeholder. In that placeholder on the linkbutton1 click i load another usercontrol. On that usercontrol there is a textbox and a linkbutton2. Everything is working fine till here but if a tried to eneter some text in textbox and click on linkbutton2 the modalpopup vanishes without firing the linkbutton click event? You should pay attention to PostBacks. Are you adding the controls again? This state management can be a pain...





Try referencing the control simply through its ID instead of using the FindControl() method of the PlaceHolder.

i have created couple of dynamic controls (dropdownlist and imagebutton) in webuser controls and assigned selected index change event and image button clicked. I am giving names to control dyanmically.





My problem is : somtime it does not recognise click event of image button and selected index change event.C# event not fired on click event of dynamic controls?
After you have created to control and added it to the controls collection you have to:





Define the function you want to have fired of

You must get the return type and arguments the same as all the others.

In speaking with the dealer that I am working with he says that not many customers go with these options. I'm not sure how much this is true so wanted to get input on the pros and cons of these two options and whether they are really worth getting.

I dont have a mini cooper but I have a GMC Sierra with a limited slip Diff, and it basically gives power to both wheels at certain speeds as opposed to just one tire, and one spinning freely. Id get the limited slip diff if I were you, the dynamic stability control in not familiar with. If your getting the cooper with the charger/turbo id get the diff though. It helps with traction

I work fulltime, but get accused by my wife that I'm less than a man and she supports me because she has to go to work (which doesn't mathematically add up since we make the same thing). Also considering that I wake up, get the kids up and dressed, fed and off to school/ daycare, load the dishwasher, go to work, get ten phone calls about things my wife wants me to squeeze in while I'm at work, get home cook, while being bitched at about my wife's bad day at work because it's my fault I'm less than a man and she has to work, try to keep the kids in line so we can just sit down and eat. Unload the dishwasher, go yell at the kids to stop f**king around in the bath, mop up the slop all over the bathroom, make the kids brush their teeth, make my daughter finish her homeowrk, then tell them a story so that they can pretend to go to bed but get up and and beg and whine for the next hour and a half. Get yelled at by my wife about how mean I am and don't spend time with the kids once I finally go get them in line to go to sleep. Try to explain why we can't vacuum right now because the kids are in bed. Lose the argument, vacuum and then put the baby back to sleep. Feed the fish (that the kids promised to be responsible for) water the plants (cuz my wife wants it pretty). Have my wife whine that I make her anxious when I don't sit down. Sit down. Have her whine about how she's stressed and doesn't feel like she gets any help or support. Go to bed, get yelled at that I always run off without getting anything resolved. Get out of bed and pop enough Benadryl that I'll fall asleep regardless of whether or not she tries to pick a fight with me. Wake up at 2:00AM, try not to wake her up while I jerk off, fall back asleep and start the routine all over again in the morning.How do I end this dynamic WITHOUT ending up divorced or in jail? The reality of modern life is that it just doesn't work that way anymore. Here are some options in order from least dramatic to most.





A. Get her a new job, the stress from her job is spilling over into your life and your family. Find out what she really wanted to do and tell her to get something in that field.





B. Downsize. Reduce your monthly expenses, buy a cheaper house, rent, get used cars anything you can do to reduce the need for her income, then get her a part time job or no job at all so she can be home more freeing up more of your time.





C. Leave dodge. A hard reset of your life may be in order, relocate to a different area altogether and get new jobs,new friends etc etc...





D. If all else fails there is always the ';D'; option, it sucks I know but sometimes it is for the best.





Talk with her about how you feel and what you want and about what she wants. Be semi-assertive in the conversations so that she won't blow you off. Let her know you are NOT satisfied with the status quo. How can i learn to control dynamics of piano?

It is important to practice scales to play dynamics. The key to playing with a wide variety of dynamics is to play the keys deep and to the bottom of the key bed. When you have this down you will have control of the note. If you do not play the note to the bottom you cannot control how the hammer strikes the strings. By playing deep you develop this control.





Play your scales hands separately with different dynamics. The key is to do them slowly and listen! Listening is the most important thing! Without listening you can't make the adjustments or know if you are doing things right.





1. Take a scale start at pp and crescendo as you ascend the scale for 4 octaves. Each note should be slightly louder than the previous one but make sure you play all the notes deep. Do this slowly so you can control your fingers and to hear. As you ascend the scale you should hear an audible difference and when you get to the top you should be double forte! But do not push down with your wrist or try to force the sound out. Just let your fingers do all the work. Then descend and decrescendo. Each note gets softer until the last note.





Do this with all your scales, major, minor (harmonic and melodic) hands separately then hands together.





2. Play all your scales softly. To do this you will have to play slowly so you can control your fingers to play deep. You can play softer when you have more control in your fingers. Playing soft is not tapping the note and then letting go. Play the key to the bottom will allow you to play softer.





3. Take exercise 1 and combine it with #2 but crescendo from pp to mp and then decrescendo. By limiting your dynamic range you improve the bottom end of it. The slight differences in dynamics require patience, time and control.





4. You can do all the above with chords, arpeggios, hanon exercises etc.How can i learn to control dynamics of piano?
It just demonstrates how much poor teaching there is and the lack of understanding of teachers and students. They can thumbs down me all they want, i really don't care because at the end of the day I keep getting contracts to perform, guest teach, judge festivals and do workshops.

Try each hand alone to listen better.. For PP try and tap as LIGHTLY as possible.. Make the force come from the tips only.. The louder it gets, the more power you inforce, for FF and louder, use your entire finger to press.. But don't lay them down flat on the piano.. It comes with practice, really easy to learn..





When you play piano, come closer to the piano it'll reduce your strength, when you play forte, just go back and give yourself more space..





I do it by nature so I don't know.. Hope that helped!

Its like its all random. My performance is based on how easy the piano is too control and just random luck.

When I have problems like this, the first thing I do, is SLOW WAAAAAYYYYY DOWN.


Do some exercises VERY slowly, concentrating very much on how hard you are hitting each note.


Maybe even play some extremely slow scales, one note at a time, hitting each note say, at ten different levels of loudness, one right after another, then go onto the next note.





Do it all over again, matching the left and right hands, in unison.


Tedious, I know, but it's the only way I know, to break bad habits, because if you don't go really slow, you just go right back into autopilot.

If you are considering the Canon XTi and XSi, take a look at the Canon Ti (500D). It is about the same price as the XTi or XSi but instead of having the Digic III processor it has the new Digic IV processor. Why does Mazda NOT offer Dynamic Stability Control w/Traction Control with the new Hardtop Miatas??

I have a base model 350Z now, which DOESN'T have LSD or Traction Control or #*%*( Stability Control either.....Even though I'd be stepping down HP wise, I like the new Hardtop Miatas, BUT NOT if I CAN'T get DSC w/Traction Control!! Did Mazda think a Hardtop would keep the Miata from losing traction?? LMAO!!Why does Mazda NOT offer Dynamic Stability Control w/Traction Control with the new Hardtop Miatas??
I seriously have no idea. I'd never buy a car without TCS and DSC.





What's even stranger is that European MX-5 models have both system standard - even with 1.8 liter engine! Mechanicaly, the cars are identical so why they are not equipped equally? You guys in the US should pressure manufacturers to put more safety features into the cars.

I think that one of the highest merits of the miata is its perceived ';purity.'; This includes its reputation as being exceptionally lightweight. While the things that you mention are wonderful on other cars, the miata has an 'image' to maintain, and extra gadgets add to its proverbial waistline.
adding stuff or not is about marketing and kept low the price of the car, when mazda decide to put an insane HP and rasing the level of the sport car then they will add that stuff





but for now, they just want to kept the miata good enough for the price, and for the low HP the miata has is not that neccesary add the traction thing





350z has like 300HP and for that is more necesary having tcs than miata with 150HP
Adding DSC with TC on a finely engineered sports car is like being in a fine steakhouse asking the Chef for Steak sauce. It is bad manners which insults the Chef and is not needed. The Steak is cooked to perfection, so is the case with a Mazda Mx5.
While I understand a need for LSD, I don't for traction control.


One more reason I have for keeping the ones I have.


The Miata was not conceived as a girlie car, but with the stability control it would be.
I agree, I wouldn't want either of traction contorl or stability control either on a miata... or a 350Z, for that matter. Way to take the feel out of the car. The LSD would be nice though, I love the extra traction on my 82 RX-7 GSL with the LSD
Frankly I would never want that on my car... nor would I get the optional ABS. Anything that puts a computerized system between the driver and how the car responds goes against everything a sports car was designed for... A Miata can provide lateral g's of 1.0 or if you add a few select parts and the right tires 1.1.... now if you think you still need traction control with a car that can already give you that type of handling then I suggest you don't need a car in the first place. All those traction control and stability control devices are really only worthwhile on those silly top heavy SUVs that tend to be over driven for what they can do... they don't belong on a sports car unless its being sold to idiots that can't drive in the first place...
I love my 96 Miata which is my everyday driver. Weekends it's the 67 Camaro. And yeah, only an idiot would say the Miata is a chick's car. Why should the women have all the fun.





As for your question, Dynamic Stability Control w/Traction Control isn't offered because it it isn't needed.
You could get the Grand Touring Special Edition - it has the Dynamic Stability Control with the TCS, but it is only available in the cloth top. Guess Mazda hasn't decided it is needed/wanted in the US and they are floating this as a trial balloon. Hmmmm...cool hard top or stability. Go slower and have more fun.

BMW Driver Stability Control Failure? or Dynamic Stability Control System?

It's weird--my BMW 135i started driving a little funny today and then randomly a light comes up on the dash saying--something like the Driver Stability Control System or Dynamic Stability Control System (I can't remember exactly what its called right now but its along those lines) has failed; I can continue with my journey but be cautious.





I'm going to take it to BMW tomorrow; but I was wondering if anyone had that system fail and if so what happened? I'm just worried I'm going to take it in and have to pay for a load of stuff...BMW Driver Stability Control Failure? or Dynamic Stability Control System?
There are several possible causes. Most likely is probably a steering angle sensor calibration error. A minor software fix. If you're driving a 135i, it should still be under warranty. (United States?) Also, the battery didn't die on the car by chance? That can cause a loss of various calibrations and thus trigger the fault light.

Apparently you did not read the sales contract when you bought or leased the vehicle. Or you did not listen to the salesperson's explanation of your new vehicle warranty.

Actually, don't apply a lot of pressure anyway. It'll make the violin have a ';nails on chalkboard'; sound.





Usually, on sheet music, the quieter they make the dynamics, the longer the notes. That's because they expect you to use less bow to make it quiet.
Don't play louder and that will be softer. Tell your tutor.

I'm about to purchase a 2007 Cooper S; however, I wanted to get feedback on Dynamic Stability Control and Limited Slip Differential options.





In speaking with the dealer that I am working with he says that not many customers go with these options. I'm not sure how much this is true so wanted to get input on the pros and cons of these two options and whether they are really worth getting.

The only reason is that they want the car as cheap as possible.





A stability control system can save your life. I've been able to put it to the test in a closed track situation, they work.





Limited slip is also worth the money. Have the salesman take you out in a car with limited slip, and find yourself someplace where you can get the wheels loose. With limited slip, the car will have much better traction. Then do the same without limited slip.

My 2003 Mini Cooper has Dynamic Stability Control and I was wondering when I should or shouldn't use it. I leave it on all the time but have the option of turning it off. What are the effects of turning it off?

DSC is a safety feature that keeps your drive wheels from losing traction under hard acceleration, and also helps to keep your car more stable when cornering. It basically does for acceleration and cornering what ABS does for braking. You should absolutely use it if you're going to drive on slippery stuff.





I have a BMW M5, and the only bad thing about DSC on the M5 is that 400hp will spin the tires when accelerating hard; so even if you control your launch without spinning the tires, you have to ';granny shift'; to 2nd or DSC will engage and you'll feel like a skydiver who pulled the rip cord as the car jerks like the brakes were hit.





So, I drive with it ON most of the time, for the added safety in case I need to avoid a ladder on the freeway, and set it OFF when I get to a stoplight and a pesky Subaru WRX STi pulls up next to me revving his turbocharged go-fast toy... :-)Dynamic Stability Control (DCS) for Mini Coopers?
Leave. It. On. Turning it off gives you a slight boost in HP, but DSC basically takes power from the wheels that slip to the wheels that grip.

Keep it on, all the time. These are systems to keep your vehicle in control in case of a panic driving situation or if your vehicle goes into a skid/slide. They are meant to be left on in case of coming upon a circumstance that, while driving, needs their interaction with your vehicle's operation to compensate for different inputs that otherwise, would cause your vehicle to handle poorly. That being said, you can turn them off to get the full feel of what your vehicle feels and handles like at the outer reaches of it capabilites, ie., hard cornering on an off/on ramp or stop light to stop light stomp on the gas pedal and see what happens kind of deal.

Before this question can be answered, a few more things need to be known such as the year your vehicle was made and what make and model it is. Most likely, a sensor in the traction control system has either intermittantly failed or experienced an electrical fault. The only way to find out what exactly is causing the problem is to take the vehicle by a repair shop, and have a qualified technician use a diagnostic computer to scan for ';diagnostic trouble codes'; inside the traction control control computer. The trouble codes will help the technician pinpoint the exact cause of intermittant traction control fault. I hope this helps you.

First, main.swf will call loadMovie function to load child.swf.





Child.swf is to provide the input panel (e.g. input textfield, rotation angle etc) for user to create various dynamical movieclips (named: Instance0, Instance1, Instance2, ......) in main.swf according to their data setting or modify the setting for the created movieclips.





The movieclips are created successfully in main.swf.





When the user click the movieclip, then their properties (like text, rotation angle etc) can pass to child.swf.





Here come a question. How can I modify the properties (e.g. rotation angle) for selected movieclip in child.swf?





coz I can't convert the movieclip name (e.g. Instance1) to the path for AS.

Murano AWD with or without dynamic control?

I'm thinking about getting a 2007 Nissan Murano with AWD. I'd like to get the dynamic control package which includes stability and traction control but the way Nissan has things put together you have to get an additional very costly package just in order to get these two options.





For typical Boston / New England driving conditions would AWD be enough or should I put out the extra cash for the dynamic control options?

check your onwers manual, their are two modes for the cruise.if i remember, you push the cruse lever (on the stearing wheel) away from you and hold for about 30 sec. that should put you in reg. cruise mode.

It is the most awesome invention. I'm old school and remember how to steer in the event of a skid. We don't have to fight that fight anymore thanks to this invention. However beware it makes brake and transmission problems cost 2x as much as regular ABS anti-braking systems.
Don't know how much these options cost but if you want it to handle good I would get it.

How can I permanently disengage the DSC (Dynamic Stabilization Control) on my BMW?

I've had several near head on accidents when the DSC has engaged (braking) while trying to pass on a 2-lane road. To add insult to injury, I've had to replace DSC electronic module twice.

It's unlikely that the DSC module is defective, especially given its replacement history. It's far more likely that if there's a problem it's one of the sensors sending information to the DSC module.





Assuming you're on a straight road when you're pulling out to overtake, the only legitimate reason for the DSC to engage would be wheelspin, and that would be traction control function more than anything else. It would lead me to be checking the wheel speed sensors, their sensor rings, and the wiring to them as the most likely issue. I'm assuming, too, that the DSC warning light is flashing when this is happening? If it's not, and it's your feeling that the brakes are engaging, then there might be other problems.





I would encourage you to try a different mechanic. If the car's under warranty, you need to discuss with the service manager at the dealer, and possibly get the zone service rep from BMW involved.





You don't mention the model of BMW you have, nor the specifics of the road conditions where this has occurred. Just to consider other possibilities, is it possible that you're driving aggressively, especially in low-traction conditions, and that the DSC intervention is actually doing its job properly? It might be reining in acceleration, but is that because the car might otherwise be close to losing traction, resulting in wheelspin, or the back end starting to slide?





While turning off DSC manually is certainly an option, if it's working properly, and the car is being driven sensibly, then it's very rare for DSC to intervene in normal driving. There something wrong with your vehicle, at speed under accel the dsc rarely acts once you are at speed. There is no reason it will will engage unless the DSC sees will slip. If you car has a DSC or DTC button you can press that. This will dumb down the intervention. As for permanently there isn't away because you loose all safety functions of the vehicle.
